The new Destiny 2 Escalation Protocol mode is out right now for players to jump into. This new mode is sort of like a mix between a lengthier Public Event that players will already know and the Horde mode from other games like Gears of War. Because of this, it is certain to be a cornerstone of the new endgame content. Of course, the Destiny 2 Escalation Protocol mode just launched earlier this week (at the time of publishing) alongside the second expansion, Warmind, so it is worth noting that you will certainly need to have the expansion in order to enjoy it. Without further ado, let’s jump down to Mars and see what it’s all about.
First and foremost, it’s important to note where exactly you can find the Destiny 2 Escalation Protocol mode. Being that it is part of the new expansion, you will need to be in the public areas of Mars like a typical Public Event. You can essentially start it at any point as long as a Public Event isn’t interfering. Escalation Protocol can delay Public Events, too.
The Destiny 2 Escalation Protocol mode does have a recommended power level of 370, which is crazy considering how much more challenging it is to grind your Power level past the new soft cap. Bungie has made it more challenging so that players will take longer to grind to the new hard cap. However, Bungie has also changed things so that if you are 50 levels or more below the recommended, your attacks will be immune against them. This means that you can basically take on the Destiny 2 Escalation Protocol mode if you are around the 320’s, but we recommend being higher than that. We recommend taking the challenge on at no less than 340 and with a bunch of people. Even then, it will still be really difficult.
