Those interested in applying may submit through the Texas Medical and Dental Student Application Service (TMDSAS). Applications open on May 1st at 8 AM central time. Detailed information on the application process may be found on the TMDSAS website www.TMDSAS.com. Each applicant will be required to complete a short Supplemental Application.

The UTRGV School of Medicine conducts criminal background and other reference checks on candidates selected for admission. This process may include online research, especially a review of social media. Completed application checklist

The UTRGV SOM Office of Admissions only reviews completed applications. The following are the requirements for a complete application:

• TMDSAS application and fee paid
• UTRGV SOM secondary application and fee paid for selected applicants
• MCAT score(s)
• Official transcripts when accepted
• Letters of recommendation
